montpelier tourney......

Yes, another softball tournament.
This is the all nighter in Montpelier.
Games begin Friday night and go through the night and all day Saturday.
Jon had a game Friday night at 8 pm then again at 10 or 10:30 pm then didn't play again until 10 am on Saturday, so me and the girls headed up to watch them play.
They played 7 games on Saturday and took 2nd in the tournament.
We didn't get home until 12:30 am.
Again, I love watching Jon and whoever he's playing with play softball.
It was perfect weather to watch and the girls were great, they love being at the field too! the girls getting home run ballsmakaylee wearing richard's awesome hat

mendon tourney......

Jon played softball in the 40th annual Mendon softball tournament.
This tournament starts about 2 weeks earlier and then ends on Saturday with fireworks at the ball park after the championship softball game. Jon played in the championship game and their team won it. I love watching softball and had so much fun watching them.
And as usual, the fireworks were AWESOME!!!!!

bear lake with my besties......

last Monday, me and some of my bestest friends decided to meet at Bear Lake with the kids and hang out for the day. We all went to high school together and try to keep in touch (some of us live farther away than others and have a harder time getting together). I love these guys and we have so much fun when we're together. I swear it hasn't been that long since we were in school hanging out.....rach ~ kristin ~ krista ~ jen ~ shan

the fray.......

What finally brings jen to post?
Well what can I say? The Fray concert!!!!
Not that our summer has not been eventful between soccer, softball, swimming birthdays, scout camp for jon, logan pool
and all the other summer stuff,
but the Fray....I love The Fray!!!!
Back in May (I think it was) I bought 2 tickets to The Fray,
so Lex and I were going to go to the concert.
Well, last Monday the radio station I listen to e-mailed me.
I had won two tickets to......yes, you guessed it.....The Fray concert.
So guess what? Jon and Makaylee got to go.
Yeah for Makaylee, not so excited was Jon,
but the great sport he is he went down.
We decided to head down early and eat
lunch/dinner at the Mayan.....we had never eaten there before so it was fun!
The guy jumper dude.......
so now let's find USANA where the concert is....
(we had never been there before)
it was 4:15 pm, 108 degrees and yes we got in line with the rest of them!!!
they opened the gates at 5:30 pm but we thought since Jon and Makaylee had general admission we'd want to wait so they could get a good spot!
Finally, 5:30 we get in and as we are going up the stair way they offered Jon and Makaylee seats instead of the lawn. So they got seats in the same area as us.
So we cooled off (sort of)........
jack's mannequin..............
And THE FRAY!!!!!
singing my all time favorite song:
how to save a life......

the girls enjoying their first concert ever!!!!
we got home about 12:15 am.....we had ssssooooo much fun!!!
I'm super glad Jon and Kay's could go with us....as you can see Lex and I moved up top with Jon and Kay's to watch The Fray...it was fun sitting with them.

hike up leathams hollow.....

What scares you more?
That I actually use the word hike and it's not a "must do" at girls camp?
Or the word up....yes, up.
Of course we (we, as in Jon) could not stay on the dirt trail, no we have to adventure UP to the rocks/caves. I tell ya, it was quite an adventure.
Here's Lex, Kort and Makaylee getting up the rock mountain........Yay, we made it to one!
Is that a smile?
Now that is!!
Yes, the wind was blowing and of course with the crazy weather we've been having a thunderstorm was rolling in (and rolled out).
Well, after the rock adventure (huge rocks rolling down the mountain almost killing my dog and leaving a big mark on Jon's ankle, and Lex and Kortnee making it up a really scary, steep, narrow part and being scared to death) we went to the river.
Now notice, Makaylee, dry and calm.
We told the girls that they better have a plan in case they accidentally fell off in to the river.
Well, wouldn't ya know it, three minutes later, Kay's lost her balance and fell in to the river.
The initial fall was ok once she realized she could stand and wasn't being sucked down river.
However, when she was stomping off to the shore she got caught up in the current you see on the left. Well that really freaked her out! She started SCREAMING, and I mean SCREAMING. I was laughing as Jon handed me the camera (I am bugged he had the camera because he missed out on some great photos of her going in) and told her to calm down and float down to him. Now I wasn't laughing to be mean and would not have laughed if I thought she was really in danger. I knew she would be fine, and it was HILARIOUS!
But try telling that to an irrate 8 year old who just fell in to the cccoooolllllddddd river!
Getting the cold wet clothes off of her!

lex softball......

Yes, this is Alexis PITCHING.
OK she has never played softball before so when she stepped out on the pitchers mound for fast pitch softball and tried pitching, me and Jon about died. We didn't know whether to hide under the bleachers or claim her as our daughter!!! She ended up doing pretty good.
That weekend we went to the Jones' and Shane helped her start learning pitching techniques. She's really enjoying it.
Yes, she played catcher too!

k softball....

And softball has begun! Kay's team are the Red Hots
