What scares you more?
That I actually use the word hike and it's not a "must do" at girls camp?
Or the word up....yes, up.
Of course we (we, as in Jon) could not stay on the dirt trail, no we have to adventure UP to the rocks/caves. I tell ya, it was quite an adventure.
Here's Lex, Kort and Makaylee getting up the rock mountain........
Yay, we made it to one!
Is that a smile?
Now that is!!
Yes, the wind was blowing and of course with the crazy weather we've been having a thunderstorm was rolling in (and rolled out).
Well, after the rock adventure (huge rocks rolling down the mountain almost killing my dog and leaving a big mark on Jon's ankle, and Lex and Kortnee making it up a really scary, steep, narrow part and being scared to death) we went to the river.
Getting the cold wet clothes off of her!

Yes, the wind was blowing and of course with the crazy weather we've been having a thunderstorm was rolling in (and rolled out).

Now notice, Makaylee, dry and calm.
We told the girls that they better have a plan in case they accidentally fell off in to the river.
Well, wouldn't ya know it, three minutes later, Kay's lost her balance and fell in to the river.
The initial fall was ok once she realized she could stand and wasn't being sucked down river.
However, when she was stomping off to the shore she got caught up in the current you see on the left. Well that really freaked her out! She started SCREAMING, and I mean SCREAMING. I was laughing as Jon handed me the camera (I am bugged he had the camera because he missed out on some great photos of her going in) and told her to calm down and float down to him. Now I wasn't laughing to be mean and would not have laughed if I thought she was really in danger. I knew she would be fine, and it was HILARIOUS!
But try telling that to an irrate 8 year old who just fell in to the cccoooolllllddddd river!
